What this lens looks for
Take the topic's most consequential, surprising, or widely-repeated claims and test them by reading laterally: seek independent corroboration from sources that do not trace back to the same origin, and look for contradicting evidence, retractions, undisclosed conflicts of interest, and the red-flag patterns — single-source, citation laundering, confident-but-unsupported, predatory venues, anecdote-as-truth, fabricated citations. Report what survives and what does not, each as a cited claim with its corroboration level recorded.
What its verifier checks
Each verification claim names what was checked and the independent evidence found or missing; corroboration is judged at the claim's domain bar (very high for medical, legal, and financial; consensus for consumer); red-flag claims are flagged with the specific pattern; provenance fields are filled.
